Lasers OTB Tas Youths 2021

Off The Beach

Supported by the excellent facilities of The Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania and its team of Australian Sailing qualified instructors, Off The Beach provides a number of training and racing options for various centreboard classes on Sundays, as well as learn to sail programs in the school holidays. On top of providing clubhouse, launching and storage facilities, the RYCT owns a fleet of training boats, giving sailors the opportunity to try several different classes including Optimist, Sabot, Pacer, Laser and Flying 11.

Above all it is about having fun.

Today, the OTB Centre is home to Lasers (full rig, radial and 4.7), Sabots, Optimists, Flying 11, 29er, 49er classes, windsurfers and the super-fast Foiler Moths.

RYCT owns a fleet of training boats, giving sailors an opportunity to try a number of different classes before they need to buy. RYCT is the proud owner of 18 Optimists, 2 Flying 11s, six Pacers & 3 Lasers. These have been purchased and maintained through the generous donations of our Club sponsors.

RYCT OTB provides a number of training and racing options for different classes on Sundays, beginning in early October. Please see the season’s calendar for the full list of training and racing dates.

RYCT offers Tackers 1 & Tackers 2 programs for those learning to sail. Once the basics are taken care of, RYCT OTB offers its very popular Beginner B program using a range of boats including Optimists, Sabots, Pacers and other classes to suit the level of skill, age and development of the participant.
