From The Boardroom January 2023 Monthly Update

It has been great to see the good weather continue post-Christmas, for both competitive sailing as well as cruising.

The National Sabre Championships, with over 45 entries, enjoyed champagne weather with three days of traditional sea breezes and a firm northerly on the last day.

The sailors from around Australia were impressed with our ability to run a great regatta along with great onshore hospitality; the food at the Presentation dinner was sensational.

And this week we are hosting the National 2.4mR Championships

None of these events could happen without our great staff and volunteers both on and off the water.

However, many of our faithful volunteers, who have in many cases provided decades of magnificent service to the Club, are looking forward to a well-earned retirement.

So is volunteering something that you could be interested in? There are many roles available, both on and off the water. It could be a bit of gardening or painting around the Club, helping in the OTB canteen or having a fun day on the water on a rescue or mark laying boat. We can team you up with someone experienced so you don’t need to be an expert at anything.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Reception; it’s a great way to get to know other Club members and contribute to the running of the Club.

See you at the Club and on the water!
