96th Bruny Island Race

The Bruny Island Race is an 89 nautical mile circumnavigation of the elongated island south of Hobart originally called ‘The Ocean Race’.

The Bruny Island Race is the oldest, continuously (almost) conducted inshore/offshore race in Tasmania, arguably in Australia, providing the challenge of inshore sailing through the winding reaches of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and the open ocean waters of the Tasman Sea.
